Description
Denison Gas is seeking a Petroleum Engineer to work in its oil and gas projects in Queensland. Qualified applicants are encouraged to apply.
The Petroleum Engineer is responsible for both the construction and review of field development planning and reservoir management. You will work with other disciplines to perform detailed technical analysis on field development strategies, resource evaluation, and reservoir performance. In a non-operator capacity, the role involves intense scrutiny of all aspects of asset definition and deliverability.
Responsibilities include:
- Contributing to a multi-discipline team supporting the development of Coal Seam Gas (CSG);
- Reviewing and evaluating development projects to assess and improve reservoir value;
- Preparing and defending reserves and long-term business plan forecasts;
- Utilising experience in enhanced recovery processes, including artificial lift and well design, to assess development plans and identify opportunities to pursue additional recovery and build reserves;
- Assisting Geologists to prepare reservoir descriptions through well logs, core, well performance, and well test analysis.
As the successful candidate, you will possess:
- Engineering degree (Petroleum Engineering preferred);
- Strong business acumen and an understanding of project economics;
- Awareness and appreciation for simulation workflows and ability to add value;
- Project management skills with an ability to prioritise work and schedule accordingly;
- Demonstrated ability to recognise and solve problems working with others;
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with team members from many different organisations in both receiving projects and providing technical feedback.
